The Difference

Why Morris County Homeowners Choose The Lint Guys for Dryer Vent Repair & Installation

  • Crushed and kinked duct

We replace crushed, kinked, or collapsed transition duct that chokes airflow and traps lint behind the dryer.

  • Disconnected and leaking joints

We reseal and reconnect duct that has pulled apart inside walls, floors, or the crawlspace, so hot moist air stops venting into your home.

  • Vent caps and exterior terminations

We repair or replace worn exterior vent caps, add proper damper flaps, and screen out birds and rodents.

Who We Work With

Re-Routes, Repairs and Nest Removal

A complete reroute of the dryer vent system when the existing duct run is unsafe, inefficient, or does not meet code. The old duct is removed entirely and a new run is installed with properly sized rigid galvanized steel pipe, code-compliant transitions, and a new exterior termination hood.

Existing dryer vents often have problems: flex hose that has kinked and crushed, too many elbows creating excessive restriction, runs that are too long, improper materials, or terminations installed incorrectly. These problems trap lint, restrict airflow, force the dryer to run hot and long, and create fire hazards. A reroute removes all of these problems.

More about dryer vent repair & installation

A reroute starts with a full inspection from dryer to exterior. We identify the best path for the new run, considering existing obstructions, wall penetrations, and code requirements. The old duct and termination hood are removed. A new run is built using 26 gauge rigid galvanized steel pipe, sealed with UL 181 listed foil tape, with no joints longer than 5 feet. Transitions use no penalty elbows to maintain airflow. The new exterior hood is installed to code with proper clearance from roof edges, walls, and obstructions. The system is tested and verified for proper airflow.

The result is a system that drains lint properly, exhausts moisture safely, runs efficiently, and meets current building code.

The exterior vent hood is blocked by a birds nest, squirrel nest, or other debris lodged inside the termination that requires using more involved techniques to dislodge and clean properly.

A real job

A rigid dryer vent for a 130-year-old house

The situation: The house had “SO many obstacles”, and the question was where to make “the proper turns to get the vent out of the house without running into electric, or plumbing, or construction”.

What we did: Rob “went over some options and quoted for me, right on the spot, for the two options”. The customers booked him “right away” and the crew installed the rigid vent.

Outcome: “Our laundry smells great, functions perfectly”.

From a Google review, September 22, 2026.

From Rob

A repair call Rob wrote up

“The vent system was severely compromised, with the hose completely packed with years of accumulated lint and debris that had created a dangerous blockage.” … “As we methodically cleared the debris and replaced the damaged, kinked hose with a high-quality new one, the transformation was remarkable. The dryer immediately began operating smoothly, quietly, and with optimal efficiency.”

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions About Dryer Vent Repair & Installation in Morris County

If you repair my dryer vent in Morris County, will you clean it too?

Usually, yes. We clear the line from the dryer to the cap and handle repairs in the same visit, with your OK before we start.

Where will a new dryer vent come out of a Morris County home?

Through an exterior wall or the roof, on the shortest safe route we can plan from where the dryer sits. It is finished with a proper cap and damper that keeps out rain, birds and rodents.

Can you vent a dryer in a finished basement in Morris County, NJ?

Yes. New dryers and finished basements are a large part of the installation work we do, and the route is planned before anything is cut.

Do you install dryer booster fans?

No. We don't install booster fans. When a vent run isn't working, we fix the run itself, and a re-route is quoted on the visit before any work starts.

How much does it cost to get a dryer vent installed?

Parts are priced up front: a DryerFlex transition hose is $75, an InOvate wall vent cover is $169, and a roof vent is $650 to replace an existing one or $850 through a new roof opening. A re-route is quoted on the visit.
