What Affects the Cost of a Dryer Vent Cleaning

We run a camera scope on every job. The customer sees the inside of their own vent on screen, before and after. Nobody else in this market shows proof of work, which is why the category defaults to whoever is cheapest.

  • Bird nests and repairs

    Bird nests, damaged duct, or a broken vent cap are priced separately. We show you what we found and give you the price before we do anything. You decide.

  • Length and route of the vent: Doesn't affect the price!

    A short run through an outside wall and a long run up through the ceiling to the roof cost the same.

  • How clogged it is: Doesn't affect the price!

    Cleaned last year or never cleaned at all, fully blocked or barely dusty, you pay your package price.

Most jobs take about an hour. Longer vent runs or heavy buildup can take more time. Cleaning is recommended once a year for most households, and more often with heavy use or long duct runs.

How Often You Will Need Us

Most households need one cleaning a year. The Consumer Product Safety Commission and most major dryer manufacturers recommend at least that. If you run several loads every few days, twice a year is a better target. What pushes a home toward more frequent cleaning:

The bigger your family, the more laundry you do, and every load adds lint to the vent. Larger households should clean more often to prevent clogs.

Pets

Pet hair ends up in the laundry and adds to lint buildup, so pet owners should make the yearly cleaning a priority.

Where the dryer sits

A long vent run, or one with lots of bends, collects lint in spots that are hard to reach without professional tools.

What you wash

Is a rooftop vent priced differently from a wall vent?

Yes, it's a different package and the price is published up front: first story $185, second story $225, roof $265. Within your package, the length and route of the run don't change what you pay.

Does the price change once you are at my home in Morris County?
