An InOvate dryer wall vent cover replaces an existing exterior termination or installs new on a solid wall. The InOvate hood is constructed from heavy gauge 26 gauge Galvalume steel with a low-profile design, angled damper, and integrated magnets that hold the damper closed when the dryer is not running.
Standard exhaust hoods often have inadequate damper design, which allows pests and weather to enter even when the dryer is off. Poor damper sealing also restricts airflow during operation. The InOvate design uses an angled gravity damper with integrated magnets that closes tightly and opens fully without restriction.

The InOvate is made in the USA from durable Galvalume steel, which resists corrosion from weather exposure. The hood provides maximum airflow efficiency and meets or exceeds all building code requirements. Installation includes mounting the hood to the wall with proper fastening, sealing the wall penetration, and verifying proper damper operation. The low-profile aesthetic complements most exterior finishes.

Why the hood matters
What a Bad Exterior Vent Hood Costs You
A wall vent is the hood that sticks out a few inches from the siding, with a 4 inch round duct behind it and a hinged flap that opens when the dryer runs. Many have a small rain shield or bird guard. It is the only way out for everything the dryer pushes through the duct.
The exterior hood is where your dryer pushes heat, moisture and lint out of the house. When its damper does not seal, pests and weather get in even when the dryer is off. When the damper does not open fully, it restricts airflow every time the dryer runs.
A blocked exterior terminal is an immediate fire hazard. The dryer cannot exhaust moisture and lint, so it overheats, clothes stay wet after a full cycle, and the system runs at fire risk. Birds and squirrels nest in vent hoods, most often in spring and summer, and outdoor debris builds up year round.

How We Check the Hood on Every Cleaning
On every cleaning, the exterior hood is opened, cleared of lint and debris, and the flapper is checked for free movement. Once the system is clear and the dryer is reconnected, airflow is verified at the termination with the machine running.
If a nest or compacted debris is lodged in the terminal, pulling it out by hand is not enough. We may need to partially disassemble the hood, push debris out from the inside, or brush out packed material that has hardened in the terminal. Nest and item removal is $100.
When the old hood itself is the problem, the InOvate replaces it. It is made in the USA from 26 gauge Galvalume steel, with an angled damper and integrated magnets that hold it closed when the dryer is off. The InOvate wall vent cover is $169 supplied and installed, in white, tan, brown or black to match your siding.

We check the duct material and sizing, look for kinks and tight bends, inspect every connection for a tight seal, confirm the exterior hood operates properly, and run a camera scope through the run. Keeping the Vent Clear Between Cleanings
A thorough dryer vent cleaning is a job for a professional, but a few simple habits keep the system running well between visits. Most of them take a minute and happen at the vent hood outside:
- Clean the lint trap after every single load
- Check that air is flowing from the vent outside while the dryer runs
- Look at the exterior vent opening and carefully clear any visible debris
- Make sure the exterior vent cover is not blocked
- Book the yearly professional cleaning
If the flapper outside sticks open, lets in weather, or barely moves while the dryer runs, that is usually the hood itself, not the duct. That is the problem the InOvate was built to fix: its angled gravity damper closes tightly when the dryer stops and opens fully without restriction when it runs.
